How to set up the Divine Office as a web application on your iPhone

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Press Safari icon to access the Internet.

2. Type "www.breviary.mobi" into the address line.

3. Double tap on the image of the cathedral chancel with your finger on the screen.

4. When the image is the desired size (use two fingers on the screen to resize the image—the image should just about fill the screen as shown above), tap on the white plus sign (+) at the bottom of the screen with your finger. 

5. When the pop-up menu appears, tap on the option "Add to Home Screen" with your finger.

6. Another screen will appear allowing you to name the application.  Click repeatedly on the x backspace key on the keyboard that appears until the title space is clear.  Then add the title of your choice, such as "Divine Office" or "Breviary".

7. Tap with your finger on the blue "Add" key in the upper right corner of the screen.

8. The application should now appear as a separate icon and title on your home screen.  If your home screen was already full, it will appear on the second page of applications.  If the image is not the right size, delete the application and repeat the process.

9. To delete the application, hold your finger on any of the applications on your screen.  When the images start to jiggle, tap on the small x on the Breviary icon.  This should delete the icon from your screen.  Then press the home button (the round button below the screen) until the icons stop jiggling.  At this point you can start the process again starting at Instruction #1 above.

NOTES

1. When using the Breviary Mobile application, you should be able to take advantage of all the functionality of your iPhone. 

2. When reading the Office tap twice with your finger on the column of your choice, Latin or English, in order to make that column fill up the entire screen.

3. If the font is uncomfortably small for you to read, turn the iPhone horizontally.  The extra horizontal space will cause the text to enlarge itself to fit the complete screen.

4. Tapping on any of the images on Breviary Mobile will cause that image to fill the entire screen.

5. On completion of any Hour, tap on the Back Button (the ◄ button at the bottom left of your screen) to return to the previous screen containing the list of Hours for the current day's Office.
