The Offices of St. Peter ad Vincula

Two Shorter Forms of Liturgical Prayer
Contained in the Guild Handbook

The Little Office of St. Peter ad Vincula

The Little Office of the Guild of St. Peter ad Vincula follows the same format and canonical Hours as that of the Roman Breviary.  However, it is far less complex and has no changes from day to day throughout the entire year.  An ideal form of prayer that helps the faithful sanctify the entire day.

The Short Office of St. Peter ad Vincula

For those with even less time for prayer, we recommend also the Short Office of the Guild of St. Peter ad Vincula.  Like the Little Office of the Guild, its contents do not change over the course of the year, and a daily reading will soon make the beginner familiar with its format.  There are only two Hours to recite in the Short Office, the Morning Office of Matins, and the Night Office of Evensong.

Both forms of the Guild Office are contained in the Handbook of the Oblates, published by the Guild of St. Peter ad Vincula and available at Confraternity Books.
