Psalm 117. Confitemini Domino

O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good; * for his mercy endureth for ever.

4  Yea, let them now that fear the Lord confess, * that his mercy endureth for ever.

On all Feasts of double I and II class, and on nine lesson Feasts of Our Lord, the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Angels, Saint John Baptist, Saint Joseph, the Apostles and the Evangelists: at Prime, Terce, Sext and None shall be said the Psalms of the Sunday Office, with the Antiphons of the current Feast, unless otherwise noted; and at Prime, the following Psalm shall be said instead of Psalm 117 Confitemini, even if the Feast occurs on Sunday.

On Feastdays, the Antiphon is now said, and then the Office is continued with the Chapter.

The following is said on lesser Sundays after Epiphany and Pentecost, whenever the Office of Sunday is said as in the Psalter; but it is omitted in all such Sunday Offices if a Double Feast or an Octave have been commemorated at Lauds.  It is also said on Trinity Sunday.

The Athanasian Creed

On Sundays, the Preces of Prime are said in the form known as the dominical Preces.

The dominical Preces (which are always said standing) are to be said when at the Office of Sunday Lauds, no commemoration is made of the Office of at least a Double rank or of an Octave, and the Suffrage of the Saints has been said.

THE BRIEF LESSON

If the Chapter-meeting be not convened at this time, then at once is read the brief Lesson.

The brief Lesson is said (at the dismissal of the Chapter-meeting, if the daily Chapter be convened after the foregoing prayers) according to the Office of the day, as prescribed in the Summary below.

First the Lector, bowing profoundly, says:

Jube domne, (Dómine) benedicere. Vouchsafe, Reverend Father (O Lord), thy blessing.
To which the Foremost makes answer:

Dies et actus nostros in sua pace dispónat Dóminus omnípotens.

May the Lord Almighty order our days and our doings in his peace.
